Rags to Riches UPSCALE Resale is a Different Kind of Resale shop!

We specialize in Designer & Couture apparel and accessories. You will find everything from upscale, elegant day and casual wear to evening, cocktail & vintage party wear.  From the latest New York Designer labels, to that one-of-a-kind ensemble from the 1950s, if it’s fabulous, and if it’s fashionable, it doesn’t matter how old it is!  You can find it here!

And don't forget all the accessories that make any outfit perfect; shoes, handbags, jewelry, hats, coats, furs, etc.

Rags to Riches has been a Centreville icon since it was started in 1976. Located in the heart of duPont chateau country, surrounded by the beautiful duPont estates of Longwood Gardens, Winterthur Museum, Brantwyn, Grenoche, and Nemours, our consignments come from the areas best dressed who shop in premier boutiques coast to coast, and in stores from all over the world.  

We have very high standards for what we sell. 

We take donations at any time during business hours and review your items for sale Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday. 

Consignments also come to us via local estate trustees, downsizing, moving, or just thinning out possessions to allow room for new ones! 

We have consigners who ship their items to us from Chicago, New York, Palm Beach, Charleston SC, to name a few. 

Consignors have the option to consign or donate their items with the proceeds benefiting THEIR favorite charities.

With over 2000 affluent consigners, we have the cream of the crop.  We also have Overstocks from local and national Retail Boutiques.

Rags to Riches UPSCALE Resale is always on the lookout for new merchandise. 

Every item is examined and hand selected by owner operator, Jodie McLaughlin, who purchased the store in June 2006. "After 30 years in business management and information technology, and as a single mother, I really needed a change.  All my life, fashion and art were in my blood. I modeled a bit out of high school, and won a number of art awards. Now, with Rags to Riches UPSCALE Resale, all my loves and talents are culminated here. It is a vision realized. And when life hands you an opportunity like that, that is just the best."

* Designer Labels, new within the past 2 to 3 years.
* Vintage, from 1920 - 1970's; narrow 1980s.
* Shoes, handbags, jewelry, scarves, etc. – from any era.

Stylists/Costumes
We welcome any and all stylists or costumers. Feel free to call or email us with requests or questions.
